Simple isn’t so simple in a crisis.
In our second collaboration with Mellor & Smith we were asked to go into full-production mode and recreate some disaster zones! We recommended that a hybrid approach, blending photography with CGI, would generate the best results and would also be the safest way of working!

Still Moving Media provided their state-of-the-art studio for the photoshoot and their production team cast the actors and used their set building know-how to build a bespoke office environment.
With the shots in the can and all the data captured from the shoot, it was time to start breathing life and more importantly, destruction into the sets with some CGI. Disaster elements including; raging fire, billowing smoke, flood water, floating debris and glitching computer screens all blended seamlessly with the photography to create just the right amount of mayhem.
Stills graded and animations looped, the next part of the jigsaw was the sound design. Banal elevator music provided the perfect bed for the rest of the sound effects. Add to the sound of buckling steel, roaring inferno, screeching fire alarms and surges of static electricity, and the atmosphere was transformed into what feels like a real-life emergency.
The campaign was launched throughout Europe and across outdoor digital, print and social media channels and to put it simply both Mellor & Smith and Rayvn were delighted with the finished product.
